Responsibilities

This is a compliance specialist role within Asda’s Legal and Compliance function. The role supports the implementation and management of the Trade and Sanctions compliance programme across the Asda group, including customs compliance, trade sanctions, HMRC accreditations (e.g. AEO) and supply chain security.
•Conduct sanctions screening for Trade programme, manage the Trade Compliance Inbox and handle general Trade compliance-related queries•Support with any projects or programme reviews as required •Ensure function communications and documents are reviewed and updated as required and communicated to relevant audiences•Co-ordinate and review e-learning, ensuring the content is refreshed and audience is reviewed•Review and update existing function policies as required•Support in identifying and managing risks to the business and colleagues, including monitoring•Work with cross-functional teams to develop, design and implement internal controls•Build effective internal relationships with key business partners and compliance colleagues•Assist with any queries relating to AEO supply chain security requirements•Conduct monthly customs audits, identifying and resolving any issues including with HMRC where appropriate, documenting evidence and tracking findings through to closure.•Keep up to date with regulatory and legislative changes, interpret the information and then communicate any necessary updates as appropriate, incorporating changes into the Trade programmes where required•Lead, co-ordinate or assist with any HMRC audits or reviews in relation to customs, sanctions or AEO as appropriate” Let’s find out about you” •Prior experience/knowledge regarding customs matters, sanctions, AEO accreditation requirements and supply chain security is required, ideally with IQ Level 3 AEO qualification•Building and maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders across the IPL group businesses and third party partners•Working methodically to complete compliance processes with good attention to detail while maintaining flexibility around business demands. Good organisation and time-management are essential.•You will communicate information clearly, while at the same time tailoring it to the respective audience and their level of involvement
