REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires ability to evaluate risk, strong problem solving skills and excellent communication skills, including ability to resolve/research complex issues with Cloudflare’s business partners, suppliers and brokers;
  • 5+ years of equivalent practical work experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, or equivalent;
  • Experience working on EU or U.S. trade compliance and customs regulations;
  • Experience in process development, compliance operations, or workflow optimization;
  • Experience with trade compliance systems or automation tools is a plus;
  • Strong process improvement and project management skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams;
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong training skills, with the ability to simplify complex processes;
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and ERP systems; and
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

We are seeking an exceptionally talented, energetic, and friendly Trade Compliance Specialist to join our legal team. In this role, you will focus on developing and standardizing trade compliance processes, driving automation initiatives, and supporting the team with strategic projects and training. By ensuring compliance with international trade laws and regulations, you will play a critical part in enabling the operation and expansion of Cloudflare’s global network and data centers. You will work collaboratively with the Global Trade Compliance team in the Americas, EMEA and APJC regions to enhance operational efficiency and ensure alignment with global goals. This position is about supporting and enabling the team rather than managing regional functions, making it a critical role in strengthening our shared success. As part of the job, you will:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and maintain team-wide processes for the trade compliance programs, incorporating regional input;
  • Identify and implement best practices to streamline workflows and ensure consistency;
  • Ensure legal regulatory compliance with all aspects of trade operations;
  • Lead projects to automate manual processes (e.g., recordkeeping, reporting, import / export compliance audits);
  • Collaborate with internal partners and external vendors to enhance the functionality of trade compliance systems;
  • Ensure trade data integrity and accuracy within trade systems and related tools;
  • Monitor, measure and develop reports with key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Evaluate new government requirements and partner with team members to ensure trade compliance;
  • Assist with various departmental projects by providing technical expertise. Projects may include support for: audits, product compliance, vendor management, duty/tax optimization. Support training materials design and delivery;
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to align the team on best practices and ensure continuous improvement;
  • Collaborate in strategic initiatives as directed by ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
