REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree (preferably in Economics and Business Administration), CFA, MBA, MS or other specific Trade Finance training will be valued.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a Trade Finance related activity.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the Trade Finance Products (Receivables Finance, Letters of Credit, Bonds, Forfaiting, Supply Chain Finance).
  • Experience in structured working capital finance (Inventory Finance, Borrowing Base, Prepayments structure).
  • Deep knowledge of the credit, country & operational risks as well as the profitability involved in the transactions.
  • Understanding of the financial needs and flows of the clients.
  • Familiar with the German Trade Finance market.
  • Understanding of the world economy and financial situation.
  • Fluent in German and English. Spanish and other languages are a plus.
  • Computer literate (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work under time pressure.
  • Team-working capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and generate new trade finance opportunities with current and prospect clients. Focus on understanding clients’ needs and strategic decisions, based on a close interaction with bankers and clients.
  • Visit and call on clients proactively, occasionally accompanied by the Banker or the Head of GTB Germany. Prepare marketing materials including product presentations.
  • Offer a comprehensive financial and technical advisory service to clients adapted to the client’s financial profile and trade finance needs. Have an in-depth knowledge of the trade finance products, contributing to reinforce BBVA’s relationship and build loyalty with main clients.
  • Conduct the analysis of the operation, defining the structure proposal. Focus on ensuring the economic viability and strength of the operation and adding value to customers’ needs.
  • Negotiate legal documentation with clients, multilaterals, other financial institutions and legal advisors. Define and negotiate the contract’s terms and conditions in collaboration with Legal, if required.
  • Obtain the Risk approval, once the final structure and conditions have been agreed with the client. Register the proposal in the risk management tool and participate in the different committee
