As a Trade Instructor – Waste Management in the Industries & Trades team, you’ll make a positive impact by: • Supervising, coaching, training, instructing, and working with staff (inmates' experience highly desirable) to develop their work skills in waste segregation, recycling, and disposal operations. • Creating and maintaining a safe working environment for staff (inmates' experience highly desirable) and visitors to comply with Work Health & Safety legislation. • Managing budget and resources efficiently and effectively to achieve planned outcomes. • Ensuring quality standards of production, including completing Instruction Test Plans (ITPs). • Delivering and understanding regulations or specific work requirements relevant to waste management and environmental compliance. • Delivering and understanding of Occupational Health & Safety requirements and their application within the context of a workshop and/or industry environment. • Contributing to teamwork by working collaboratively with others to achieve the goals and objectives of the Centre. • Delivering the highest level of personal integrity and ethical behaviour. To be successful in this role, you’ll have: • Certificate III Waste Management (or working towards obtaining this qualification) • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, or • Full training will be provided to obtain Certificate IV in Training & Assessment accreditation to be completed within the first year of employment • Certificate III Correctional Practice, or • Full training will be provided to obtain Certificate III Correctional Practice accreditation to be completed within the first year of employment • Extensive experience Please note: This position carries trust and responsibility. A comprehensive probity assessment, including a National Police Check, is part of the selection process for this role.
