JOB DESCRIPTION:
overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled U.S. Trade Operations Specialist to join our dynamic North America Trade Operations Team on a six-month contract basis, with the potential for extension. The primary focus of this new position will be to review/audit the growing number of U.S. entries to ensure compliance with trade regulations. This fast-paced role will involve both automated validations through the Entry Management (EM) solution and manual processes for verifying entries related to reciprocal tariffs (5-digit) and new eCommerce filings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and validate U.S. entries (integrated) for compliance with trade regulations using the Entry Management (EM) solution for automated validations.
- Perform manual reviews of entries (non-integrated) established with Trade Optimization to ensure accurate validation of reciprocal tariffs and new eCommerce entries filed by metro areas.
- Validate entries for the completion of entry package requirements, ensuring that all required documentation and data are present and accurate.
- Flag any corrections needed prior to the statement date and address these issues with the customs broker for resubmission to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).
- Manage a growing number of U.S. Customs Broker Exceptions through the Trade Partner Relationship Management (TPRM) solution, powered by Salesforce, particularly in light of de minimis elimination.
- Address escalations within the shipment document handover process to ensure timely and accurate resolution of issues among vendors, Logistics Service Providers (LSPs), and Customs Brokers.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong trade compliance and operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about changes in trade policies, standards, and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in Customs Broker Management and Entry Management is required.
- A US Customs Broker License is a plus.
- Strong understanding of U.S. trade compliance regulations, entry processes, and tariff structures.
- Ability to review and interpret policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines accurately.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail to ensure high accuracy in entry validations.
- Proven capability to operate with a high degree of autonomy while executing daily trade operations responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address escalations effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams.
- Proficiency in trade management software, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite.
