Only applications from candidates with the correct employment eligibility and currently based in New Zealand will be considered.
As an Electrical Tradesman at Niagara, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of the sawmill and remanufacturing plant. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, servicing electrical breakdowns, supporting new installations, and contributing to electrical improvements and project work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding to and repairing electrical breakdowns in a fast-paced industrial setting
  • Installing, maintaining, and servicing PLCs, VSDs, switch gear and motors
  • Commissioning new electrical systems
  • Collaboration with the wider Maintenance Team, including our Engineers.
  • Electrical projects and installations, including switchboards and power supply systems

  • Competitive hourly rate based on skills and experience
  • Overtime rates
  • Opportunity to grow your electrical skills across a range of systems and projects
  • Supportive, team-oriented environment in a growing, family owned company

  • Familiarity with 3-phase power systems, fault finding, and PLC programming
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
  • Physically fit and able to work in a demanding industrial environment
  • Full NZ driver’s license and the right to work in New Zealand

More than anything, we want someone who reflects our values—someone wants to be an active team player, operating with integrity, taking ownership of their work, and is committed to doing things right. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a flexible yet impactful role within a supportive and forward-thinking business. If you are looking for work that is purposeful, detail-driven, and rooted in a company that truly values its people, we would love to hear from you.
