Description Contract-to-hire opportunity Houston, TX 77056 - Galleria Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Trade Settlement Analyst for our Trading Operations team. This role will support and streamline the physical trading operations, ensuring accurate and timely settlements across both international and domestic markets. The successful candidate will play a vital role in facilitating smooth trade processes and providing essential administrative support to our physical traders. Key Responsibilities: Verify settlement deals in the internal system for alignment with trade records and notify the operations team or trader of any discrepancies. Collaborate with traders to develop an understanding of the market and related counterparties, grades, market movements, and instruments. Prepare and manage internal reports, documents, trading records, and market analysis. Review the internal system to ensure all information is aligned with third-party data. Perform paper monthly end closing with the Finance team. Accountable for confirming receivables and payables promptly. Record and process all settlements in accordance with internal procedures and processes. Prepare and send payment instructions to the operations team for delivery to counterparties and customers, then scan and save the documents per company compliance. Support the Senior Trade Settlement Analyst with bi-weekly and monthly budgeting and forecasting, as well as daily assistance to Finance. Assist the Senior Trade Settlement Analyst in monthly closing and trade reconciliation for the accounting department. Ensure effective communication and coordinated efforts to maintain smooth operations and deliver high-quality service. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese is preferred Previous experience in trade settlement, commodities trading, or a similar role within the energy or trading industry is preferred. Strong understanding of crude oil trading operations and settlement processes. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; familiarity with trading or settlement software is a plus. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
