Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
The following schedule is available: Afternoon: 3:00pm to 11:00pm (Monday to Friday)

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Trade Supervisor, Electrical (Afternoon Shift) is responsible for leading their team of tradespeople by coordinating and overseeing completion of trade activities within the Shipyard. The Trade Supervisor will ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely and in compliance with all regulations and company standards. The position reports directly to an Area Manager and requires significant interaction with Trade Management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Responsible for delivering product and customer quality standards. Assumes accountability for safety, cost, schedule and quality performance in area of responsibility.
  • Implements and carries out Seaspan’s health, safety, environmental and quality processes on the shop floor and strives to eliminate safety hazards at every opportunity.
  • Leads team with schedule and priorities, assigning work to trade employees with the skill and ability to efficiently complete scheduled work.
  • Collaborates with management to establish daily and weekly goals and holds employees accountable for performance. Reports internally on work process and status to Area Managers.
  • Follows and implements the collective agreement and standard methodologies to lead trades employees efficiently. Responsible for discipline, including performance and attendance management.
