Description
As a Trader Analyst Co-op Student, you will support the trading and commodity risk management functions by identifying, analyzing, and communicating market-driven opportunities. You’ll interpret global market data, assist in tracking inventory and risk exposure, and contribute to ad hoc projects that enhance trading performance. This role offers a dynamic learning environment within a fast-paced commercial trading team, with exposure to refined products, compliance, and renewable fuel trading across North America. The Commodity Risk Management and Commercial Trading Team is responsible for managing market risk through hedging activities, trading product cargos with third-party customers, and buying and selling natural gas. The team also oversees commercial contracts within supply planning and trading. The team sits within our Home Office under the Commercial Trading group. Responsibilities: Monitor and report on risk exposure across trading activities Assist in tracking inventory levels and product movement Support ad hoc project work related to trading strategy and market analysis Collaborate with traders and internal stakeholders to support daily operations Interpret global market news and data to identify value-add opportunities Your Skills: Strong analytical skills and self-motivated Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Curiosity about financial markets, trading, and risk management Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills Strong presentation skills Experience with market data systems and tools (i.e Bloomberg, Marketview, etc.) Your Experience: Currently enrolled in a Business Administration program completing 2nd or 3rd year of study with a strong interest in accounting or finance Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school What We Offer: Professional Development – Student focused learning & development sessions, mentorships and networking events Student Benefits – Housing allowance, co-op fee reimbursement and parking allowance for qualifying candidates.
