Established over 185 years ago, The Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd (MCB) is the leading financial institution in Mauritius and a key regional banking group with a growing presence across Africa and international markets. Within the Financial Markets SBU, the Treasury Management desk plays a central role in managing the bank’s global liquidity, funding strategy and short-term interest rate positioning. The desk operates across global money markets, FX swaps, repo markets and fixed income investments to support the bank’s balance sheet and business activities. We are seeking a Trader – Treasury Management to join our Financial Markets Department and contribute to the management of the bank’s multi-currency liquidity, funding operations and treasury investment activities.  We are on the lookout for: Job vacancy: Trader – Treasury Management The Trader – Treasury Management plays a key role in the daily management of the bank’s global liquidity and short-term interest rate exposure. The role focuses on optimising funding, deploying excess liquidity and supporting the bank’s balance sheet through active participation in global money markets, Fixed Income markets, FX swap and repo markets. Operating within a dynamic international banking environment, the Trader contributes to the management of multi-currency liquidity across more than 60 currencies, including major global and African markets. The position combines active execution, liquidity forecasting, market analysis and counterparty relationship management to support the bank’s funding strategy, support clients and balance sheet optimization. In this role you will, * Manage daily liquidity across 20+ major nostro accounts and 40+ currencies, ensuring timely funding of payment obligations and optimal deployment of excess liquidity; * Execute money market deposits, FX swaps, repos, trade refinancing and short-dated securities transactions to support funding and liquidity management; * Maintain multi-currency liquidity forecasts incorporating loan pipelines, deposit flows and business activity to support funding and deployment decisions; * Contribute to balance sheet optimisation through efficient funding strategies, repo structures and management of the bank’s investment-grade fixed income portfolio; * Execute transactions with global financial institutions, Tier-1 banks and African counterparties across money markets and repo markets; * Monitor interest rate curves, money market conditions, fixed income markets and macroeconomic developments to inform treasury positioning and pricing; * Support pricing of treasury products including deposits, money market placements, borrowings, repos and MUR fixed income instruments; * Develop and maintain relationships with financial institution counterparties, ensuring efficient execution and settlement of transactions; * Operate within defined market risk, liquidity risk and credit risk limits, while contributing to the monitoring of regulatory liquidity metrics including LCR, NSFR, LDR, CAR and CRR; * Work closely with ALM, Market Risk, Finance, Credit and Global Transaction Banking teams to support the bank’s liquidity framework and funding activities; * Monitor local market liquidity conditions and government securities markets, supporting participation in primary auctions and secondary market activities where relevant; * Contribute to treasury product development and product papers aimed at enhancing balance sheet efficiency and liquidity deployment capabilities; * Support periodic review of counterparty limits, trading parameters and market access frameworks. OR * At least 5 years’ experience in Treasury Management/Financial Markets; AND Preferred qualifications/experience: * Professional certification such as CFA or ACI Dealing Certificate; * Strong understanding of money markets, FX swaps, repos and fixed income instruments. * Knowledge of liquidity management and regulatory liquidity frameworks. * Ability to analyse market drivers and translate insights into funding or investment decisions. We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of: EITHER * A BSc in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science or equivalent; * At least 2 years’ experience in Treasury Management/ALM/Market Risk; OR * At least 5 years’ experience in Treasury Management/ALM/Market Risk; AND * A professional qualification like CFA/ ACI Dealing Certificate would be considered as an advantage; * Knowledge of treasury software would be an advantage.   A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.
