Description
General Description The Tradeshow Construction Technician supports the Tradeshow Manager and Construction Team Lead by ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely installation and dismantling of igus® exhibits and displays at tradeshows throughout North America. This role is responsible for booth construction, logistics support, equipment maintenance, and ensuring all exhibit materials are prepared, organized, and show-ready. Key Responsibilities · Assemble and disassemble igus® tradeshow booths and exhibits according to specifications and design standards. · Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to construct booth structures and components. · Load and unload trucks containing tradeshow equipment, inventory, and materials. · Install lighting, audiovisual equipment, monitors, and other booth accessories. · Ensure all booth graphics, signage, and product displays are installed accurately and securely. · Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on booth components, tools, and equipment. · Communicate and collaborate closely with the Tradeshow Manager, Construction Team Lead, and team members to meet project timelines. · Adhere strictly to all company safety guidelines, venue rules, and industry regulations. · When not traveling, manage the inventory of tradeshow equipment, restock supplies, prepare the mobile exposition for travel, and ensure all materials are in good working condition. · Perform other duties as requested by management. Qualifications · High school diploma or equivalent required. · Minimum of two (2) years of experience in tradeshow construction, carpentry, fabrication, or a related field. · Knowledge of basic construction techniques, building principles, and modular exhibit systems. · Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, floor plans, and schematics. · Proficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. · Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot onsite issues quickly. · Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. · Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. · Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities. · Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally across all levels of the organization and with external vendors. · Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite and general comfort with technology and software applications. · Willingness to travel domestically up to 30%, including occasional holidays and weekends. · Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation. Physical Demands · Ability to sit, stand, and walk for 8+ hours per day while performing job duties. · Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs; booth setup and dismantling may require heavier lifting at times.
