DESCRIPTION

The Licensed Tradesperson maintains, diagnoses, tests, and repairs the material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime in compliance with health and safety standards.

EDUCATION

Completion of Specialized Courses Normally Taught in Community or Recognized Specialty Colleges Consisting of About Three Academic Years
For electrician roles, a Licensed Industrial Electrician Certificate (442A) is required
For millwright roles, a Licensed Industrial Millwright Certificate (433A) is required

Qualifications:

  • Licensed industrial millwright certificate (ITABC Industrial Mechanic or equivalent)with at least 5 years experience
  • Previous experience working with Allen Bradley/ Seimens VFD’s
  • Background must include demonstrable knowledge in electrical/automation diagnostics, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance and new installation both mechanical and electrical
  • Working knowledge and ability to weld in an industrial environment. (ARC & MIG welding) recognized trade certification preferred (ITABC Level A or B equivalent).
  • Previous experience with belt conveyors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must successfully complete practical examination by company
  • Must be able to use word, excel, outlook express.
  • Must possess personal tools as identified by company

EXPERIENCE

5 years of experience either as an electrician or millwright that installs, maintains, diagnoses, or repairs Material Handling Equipment.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct regular preventative / predictive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to maintain equipment in a good state of repair in compliance with health and safety standards
Diagnose and repair Material Handling Equipment mechanical or electrical failures to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime to reduce downstream impact to service delivery
Inspect and monitor Material Handling Equipment and related facilities
Prepare and maintain reports (e.g., safety, operational)
Coordinate and document work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
