CONTRACT TYPE: PERMANENT
Are you a practical, multi-skilled individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for supporting trades teams? We’re looking for a proactive Tradesperson Support Officer to assist BTS and contracted technicians in delivering essential housing services across Luton.
In this varied role, you’ll use your general building knowledge to carry out support tasks in areas such as roofing, painting, plastering, bricklaying, fencing, and demolition. From removing cupboards and constructing pathways to helping with garden repairs, you’ll be a key part of ensuring repair work runs smoothly and efficiently.
You’ll also handle sensitive and specialist waste removal—sometimes working alongside emergency services—as well as transport building materials, drive BTS vehicles, and support general site operations.
If you’re reliable, adaptable, and ready to make a meaningful impact in your community, we encourage you to apply and be part of the team that keeps Luton’s homes running safely and smoothly.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for a reliable and hands-on Tradesperson Support Officer who can confidently support trades teams while maintaining a positive and professional approach with clients, tenants, supervisors, and managers.
You’ll need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, using your initiative to make practical decisions within set procedures. The role involves physical tasks, including daily ladder use and working at heights, so a good level of fitness and confidence in manual tasks is essential.
A full, valid driving licence is required, as you’ll be expected to travel between sites and transport materials. An understanding of equality in service delivery, along with basic knowledge of Health & Safety and Manual Handling regulations, is also important.
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English
If you’re a team player with a practical mindset and a commitment to safe, inclusive working, we’d love to hear from you.
