CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The ideal candidate holds a primary degree or postgraduate qualification in a technical field such as computer science, natural or environmental sciences, economics, engineering, or finance. They possess strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a good understanding of power systems, the energy industry, and commodity markets. Proficient in programming and database management, particularly in Excel, VBA, and SQL, they are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of prioritising tasks effectively.
With at least one year of experience in a data analytical role, they excel in teamwork and communication. Additionally, they bring a solid knowledge of IT systems and quantitative modelling experience in financial or commodity markets.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Flogas Enterprise Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Trading Analyst to join our team. This critical role involves trading and managing the risk associated with a portfolio of renewable energy generation and customer supply positions. The successful candidate will play a key part in forecasting both short-term and long-term electricity and gas demand.
This role will initially be based out of our Dublin City Centre office but will primarily be based in our new offices at Dublin Airport Central later this year.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain accurate short-term and long-term forecasts for electricity and gas demand, ensuring alignment with market conditions and customer needs.
- Actively trade a portfolio of renewable electricity generation assets and customer demand positions, optimizing financial outcomes and managing associated risks.
- Analyse market data and trends to develop robust forecasting models, trade execution strategies, and efficient trading processes.
- Regularly communicate developments in the wholesale energy market to relevant commercial and financial teams, providing insights that inform decision-making.
- Engage in project work as required, contributing expertise to cross-functional initiatives and supporting the continuous improvement of trading operations.
