Novamex markets an array of food and beverage brands in a variety of categories. Each brand is a leader in the Hispanic Industry and is well known to our Hispanic shoppers in the U.S. We are currently seeking a Traffic Analyst to join our growing team in the El Paso, Texas area.
BONUS: qualifies up to 3 months of base salary

SUMMARY

The person in this position is responsible for providing outstanding service to carriers and customers; estimating costs and scheduling drivers/loads for short and long hauls; must have the ability to handle a high volume of outbound and inbound calls and e-mails; strong attention to details; ability to negotiate with carriers to ensure cost effectiveness and cost competitiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate needs to be self-motivated, organized, and highly productive, with the ability to work well on a diverse and highly qualified team in a fast-paced work environment. Be effective in working as a member of a team within the sales department as well as with other personnel and other areas within Novamex.
Excellent customer service skills, analytical abilities as well verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Links and aligns own performance goals towards the company’s cost efficiency and saving goals.
  • Utilize logistics IT to optimize procedures (OTM, Epicor, 4kites)
  • Coordinates carriers and truck drivers according to availabilities and requirements.
  • Assigns transportations companies to pending loads keeping cost and availability for on time delivery as a priority.
  • Ensures delivery appointments are scheduled in a timely manner for all loads.
  • Monitors delivery exceptions from the carriers and report information back to the corresponding Customer Service Representative.
  • Track all LTL orders on a daily basis.
  • Track all International orders door to door.
  • Maintain close communication with carriers getting quotes, review invoices if needed.
  • Advises Customer Service of seriously late shipments.
  • Keeps Customer Service informed of delivery issues.
  • Responds to customer’s specific needs/urgent orders.
  • Collaborates with Logistics Coordinator to improve availability of equipment.
  • Collaborates with internal customers to improve efficiency, productivity and processes.
  • Advises the Planning Department of Product priorities and lack of product.
  • Acts as a liaison between the warehouse, Customer Service Department, and the plant in Mexico if needed.
  • Identifies areas for process improvement and cost savings to ensure budget and service expectations are met.
  • Monitors inbound and outbound shipments from port to warehouse or plant/warehouse to customer to ensure they are delivered on time.
  • Assigns transportation companies to point of purchase material and performs complete tracing and follow up of this material.
  • Prepares reports for freight premium charges
  • Occasional travel
