TRAFFIC CLERK - MONDAY TO FRIDAY 18.00 START MONDAY TO FRIDAY

Clarke Transport a family business – one of the leading privately owned multi-service transport organisations in the UK are looking for a Traffic Clerk to work out of our National Depot in Tipton, West Midlands.

DESCRIPTION

You will support the management team to provide notification to drivers of their routes, to ensure the smooth running of logistic operations for onward delivery. You will also liaise with customers to ensure excellence in customer experience and promotion of the Company brand.

HEALTH & SAFETY

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others’ health, safety and security as defined in the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and any related Health and Safety manuals or procedures. This will include:

• Attending Health & Safety training when required.
• Identifying risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks.
• Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills.

• Maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards.
• Active reporting of health and safety hazards or potential hazards immediately when recognised.
• Taking full responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others at all times.

• £13.29(40hrs per week)
• 20 Days plus 8 statutory holidays (28 days in total)
• Additional Holiday after 4 years’ service - Extra Day for every additional year’s service up to a maximum of 5 extra days.

• Contact drivers to brief them of their scheduled loads, routes and scheduled delivery times, and ensure debriefs are conducted, when deliveries are completed.
• Utilise and maintain computerised system to maximise business efficiency and customer service.
• Ensure documentation is properly completed in line with customer and Company requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the drivers, to actively address issues and potential issues, so that risks may be avoided or minimised.
• Liaise with customers when necessary, advise them of any issues, such as late deliveries.
• Ensure strict compliance with transport regulations and Company policies and procedures, such as health and safety and quality systems.
• Monitor and report any areas of concern promptly to the management team.
• Provide general support appropriate to the management when require.
• To complete any other reasonable duties as instructed by the management team.
