Description
The Opportunity RS&H is currently seeking a Traffic Control Engineer for our Transportation practice in our Raleigh, NC Office! The Traffic Control Engineer will perform tasks associated with maintenance of traffic, pavement marking and signing projects, serving in a professional role advising clients and staff, consulting and review of work as an expert in the field of traffic control engineering. The position will involve managing maintenance of traffic, pavement marking and signing contracts, preparation of technical documents, coordination with clients written and oral, assisting with business development/marketing activities, preparation of contract scope and fee estimates, mentoring/supervising junior staff and assisting with implementation of a quality control process. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. Professional Engineer (PE) License. Minimum 10 years of experience within the field of traffic control engineering. Traffic Control, pavement marking and signing design experience. Ability to evaluate traffic operations and safety issues and apply sound engineering principles and judgment towards developing appropriate traffic control strategies. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience with traffic engineering tools such as: Microstation, GuideSign, MUTCD. Familiarity with local, state and national traffic control, pavement marking and signing engineering standards and practices. Past experience managing and training younger staff/associates. Preferred Qualifications: North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) experience. Open Roads experience.
