Warning Lites of MN is continuing to expand our team. We are looking to hire highly motivated individuals as Traffic Control Drivers. Whether it is setting up a safe work zone, working in the warehouse, loading/unloading trucks or delivering product throughout Rochester and surrounding area, these key employees keep our day to day operations on track and provide exceptional service to our customers.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As a Traffic Control Driver, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Setting up safe work zones that ensure that traffic does not cause a threat to workers and the general traveling public. This involves professional set up of signs, barrels, barricades, and other approved traffic control devices that will guide the public through a work zone safely.
  • Taking direction from various road authorities and event planners, as it relates to project work.
  • Work independently or part of a traffic control crew.
  • Operate company vehicles to deliver and remove traffic control devices from jobsites.
  • Performs shop work as required including preparing orders, cleaning and repairing equipment, and general housekeeping.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance of vehicles through daily vehicles inspections, conducting basic routine maintenance using hand tools such as checking oil and filling fluids.

Traffic Control Drivers don’t mind the Minnesota weather and have a high regard for safety and excellent customer service. Successful candidates enjoy the physical demands of the position, are highly self-motivated, detailed, and take initiative to get the job done right while managing multiple tasks at once. We encourage individuals with experience to apply, but for the right individuals we will provide on-the-job training for the tasks that the Traffic Control Driver will need to perform. We do require the following to be considered for employment:

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (as determined by our insurance company). CDL drivers are encouraged to apply.
  • Have or ability to obtain a DOT Med Card.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to utilize a GPS device and read a map.
  • Ability to read and set up equipment according to traffic control plans.
  • Ability to work long hours during Spring/Summer/Fall months.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and an occasional holiday.
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (70+ pounds), walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Must have the ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Must have working knowledge of English sufficient enough to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information.
  • Experience performing manual labor. Traffic control experience is a +plus+ and will be compensated accordingly
