Job Description
Join a leading transportation consulting firm specializing in traffic engineering, transportation planning, and parking consulting. Our projects focus on improving traffic flow, enhancing transportation systems, and developing parking solutions for a wide range of clients, including government agencies, private developers, and businesses. We are looking to hire a Traffic Engineer/Planner to join our Washington, DC team. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, provided you are available for local client meetings, site visits, and office meetings. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct traffic impact studies and transportation planning analyses.
  • Develop and implement traffic management plans.
  • Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to identify transportation needs and solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals.
  • Utilize transportation modeling software to analyze traffic patterns and forecast future conditions.
  • Participate in public meetings and presentations to communicate project findings and recommendations.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 2-4+ years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning
  • Proficiency with HCS, Synchro, and VISSIM software
  • Experience conducting traffic impact studies and trip generation analyses
  • Knowledge of CADD software and Microsoft Office Suite

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or EIT certification is a plus
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certificate is a plus
  • Experience with AutoCAD and GIS is a plus
  • Experience and/or knowledge of SYNCHRO

The office is based in Washington, DC, but the team primarily works remotely, except for client meetings, site visits, and occasional office visits.
