Job Description AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineering Manager to be based in Orange or Los Angeles, CA and will be a hybrid role. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Traffic Engineering Manager in traffic engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, managing, and implementing traffic engineering solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Responsibilities: Lead and manage traffic engineering projects from conception to completion. Develop and review traffic impact studies, traffic signal designs, and roadway safety audits. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, designers, and construction managers. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and findings to clients and stakeholders. Conduct field investigations and data collection to support project development. Utilize traffic simulation software and other engineering tools to analyze and solve complex traffic issues. Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education California Professional Engineer (PE) license. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree. 8+ years of experience. Proven track record of working with LADOT and Caltrans. Experience in Traffic Signal Design, Traffic Control, Signing and Striping, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation). Strong knowledge of traffic control devices, roadway design, and traffic safety principles. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals. Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audience. Experience in construction phase services. Proven and demonstrated ability to successfully work with diverse teams.
