QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a three year Community College Transportation Technology program.
  • Member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technician and Technologist (OACETT) as a Certified Engineering Technologist.
  • International Municipal Signal Association Level 1 and 2 Certification is an asset.

EXPERIENCE:

Four years of previous related experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE NECESSARY:

  • Valid Driver’s Licence - Class G.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and various software.
  • Proficiency using technical software utilized in the position.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Highway Traffic Act.
Responsibilities

Reports to the Senior Transportation Technologist. Assists in the design, installation, operation and maintenance of the City’s traffic signals and street lights. Assists in the development, implementation, operation and maintenance of electronic Computerized Traffic Signal Control Systems (C.T.S.C.S.).
