Primary Location VIC - Williamstown Job Description Summary Service Stream are on the hunt for an experienced Traffic Signals Supervisor to join our Williamstown team! The Traffic Signals Supervisor is responsible for the installation, maintenance, commissioning, and inspection of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Traffic Signal (TS) assets across Victoria. This includes working on associated electrical systems such as variable message signs, hazard warning systems, and vehicle detection equipment. The role ensures that all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Service Stream, legislative, and contractual requirements. The position requires flexibility to perform both planned and reactive maintenance, often in dynamic environments, and may include participation in a standby roster for emergency and after-hours works. The successful candidate will also collaborate with internal teams to gather detailed information required for pre-qualification submissions for upcoming tenders. Key Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and inspect Traffic Signal (TS) and Intelligent Transport System (ITS) assets. Lead and coordinate site activities and personnel Conduct fault finding, electrical testing, and commissioning of equipment including controllers, vehicle detection systems, and signage (VMS, AWS, VSLS). Prepare and configure equipment prior to installation. Perform planned and reactive maintenance to ensure system reliability and safety. Participate in standby roster for emergency repairs and out-of-hours work. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to source and compile accurate information for pre-qualification submissions on upcoming tenders. Modify or upgrade existing TS and ITS installations as required. Complete all mandatory technical and safety training. Undertake training for new technologies and systems as required. Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure high-quality project delivery. Ensure compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and timeframes. About You: Minimum 4 years of relevant field experience within the past 6 years, primarily in the traffic signal or ITS industry. Practical experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of TS/ITS systems. Familiarity with industry-standard TS and ITS equipment. Traffic Signal Controller training course certification. SCATS (Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System) knowledge is desirable. Strong technical and problem-solving skills in electrical and traffic systems. Proven ability to work independently and in teams in field environments. Sound understanding of safety and compliance practices. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Flexible and adaptable to changing work priorities.
