Location: 490 Ohio Street, Lockport, NY 14094 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM (50 hours/week) Pay: $40 to $45+per hour (based on experience) Sign-on bonus: $1000 USD Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Trailer & Diesel Mechanic with proven experience in maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment, including trucks, trailers, excavators, forklifts, loaders, and skid steers. The ideal candidate will have a strong diagnostic background, preferably Cummins-certified, and be proficient with Davie 4 diagnostic software. This role requires a versatile mechanic capable of troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components across various equipment types. Key Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, trailers, and heavy equipment (excavators, trucks, forklifts, loaders, screeners) Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation of fleet and equipment Use Davie 4 and other diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and repair Service fuel and brake systems, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, exhaust, and electrical systems Conduct routine maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks) Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts usage in compliance with DOT and company standards Test repaired equipment for proper performance Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards Collaborate with team members to resolve complex issues and improve equipment reliability Stay current with industry trends and technical advancements Qualifications Cummins certification (preferred) Strong knowledge of Davie 4 diagnostic software 3 years experience preferred as a diesel mechanic, preferably with trailers and mixed heavy equipment Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing excavators, trucks, trailers, forklifts, loaders, and screeners Solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems CDL (preferred but not required) Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Commitment to safety and teamwork Tool Requirements Full socket set (2"–5mm) 1/2" drive torque wrench Wrench set (2" and down) Decent plier set Tool allowance or voucher program may be available in the future Certifications Must be able to pass online diagnostic certifications Required DOT certifications: Air Disc Brake Certification Brake Foundation Certification (Courses may be difficult to find; support will be provided.)
