Job Summary The Trailer Condition Specialist is responsible for inspecting, evaluating, and documenting the condition of trailers to ensure they meet customer loading standards. This role plays a critical part in the Shipping Department for our customers. Requirements Key Responsibilities Perform routine and detailed inspections of trailers to ensure they meet customer standards for loading. Inspect structural components such as frames, floors, roofs, walls, doors, and landing gear Identify safety issues, mechanical defects, and compliance violations Document inspection findings accurately using inspection forms Tag and report trailers that are unsafe or out of service Report on equipment that does not meet standards to supervisor and customer representatives Perform Reinspection of equipment once repairs are completed Remove nails and debris from the floor to prepare trailer for loading Maintain clean and organized inspection areas Follow all safety policies and procedures Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent (required) Previous experience in trailer inspection, fleet maintenance, or transportation (preferred) Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations (preferred) Ability to identify mechanical and structural issues Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Basic computer or tablet skills for inspection reporting Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Good communication skills (written and verbal) Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and crouch for extended periods Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
