OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive trainee Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial services and financial accounting, with proficiency in various accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero or have relevant accounting qualifications . This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making within the organisation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in financial services or financial accounting roles or financial qualifications
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or PeopleSoft.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Previous experience in mentoring or training is advantageous but not essential.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting principles.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Utilise accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) to record transactions and generate reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing analysis on variances.
  • Collaborate with team members to mentor junior staff and enhance their understanding of financial management practices.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including tax obligations.
  • Support the audit process by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors.
