We’re looking for a Trainee Accountant to join our Superannuation team in Newcastle. This is a great opportunity for someone who has recently completed or is close to completing their accounting degree and is ready to begin their CA studies. In this role, you’ll gain specialist experience in self-managed superannuation, learning from experienced team members and building your technical capability in a focused area of accounting.

• Prepare financial statements, tax returns, audit documentation, and supporting materials for self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs)
• Support the annual compliance and reporting process for SMSFs
• Complete activity statements and understand GST treatment within superannuation
• Liaise with auditors, clients, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate outcomes
• Work with ATO and relevant government bodies to resolve basic matters
• Build your technical knowledge of superannuation legislation and standards
• Participate in learning and development initiatives including CA study support
• Contribute to continuous improvement and team success through collaboration and initiative
