Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a Trainee Allied Health Assistant to join the Aged Care and Disabilities team!
A valuable opportunity to earn a nationally recognised qualification through hands-on, practical experience.

Council will fund all related training expenses as approved by Council and the successful applicant will be employed for up to two (2) years and will offer a range in wages in accordance with the salary structure depending on age, acquired skills and experience.

  • Full time - Fixed Term 2 years
  • Weekly pay cycle
  • Salary range depending an age and experience

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:

  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Experience working with, and empathy towards, elderly individuals
  • Certificate III in Aged Care or a willingness to undertake the qualification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing training and professional development
  • Understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles and responsibilities
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
Responsibilities

The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) will support Allied Health Professionals in delivering therapeutic and rehabilitation services across various disciplines, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, podiatrist and others as directed
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government , Aged, Disability & Home Care (State) Award.
