JOB DESCRIPTION
We are a small family business, established over 40 years ago. We have built a great team, who really care about producing the best quality bread and cakes for our customers (along with fantastic customer service). We are growing and are really excited about the next phase of our journey. We are looking to recruit 2 or 3 Bakery apprentices to our growing team.
We will put you through a three-year, hands-on program. During this time, you will also obtain your SQA qualification. You will get the very best training in European / sourdough, traditional baking. All our methods and recipes come from our German founder.
You will also be trained to the very highest skill level in viennoiserie (pastry), cake making and finishing.
We are a commercial bakery setting and you will be working in a very busy, fast paced environment with large quantities of dough.
You would ideally have some bakery qualification or experience of working in a scratch bakery or commercial kitchen, but this is not essential. A willingness to work and learn is the most important thing. We will start you slow and train you across all areas of the bakery. You must have a good attention to detail, be able to maintain a high level of consistency and be comfortable in a busy environment.
The role is night shift, so you must be able to get to our site for 10-10:30pm. Shift pattern is 4 over 7 (Guaranteed Saturday night off).
Full time position is 34 hours nightshift over 4 days with occasional overtime available. Good holidays (5 weeks with 4 days at Xmas and New year) and competitive pay rates.
