ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Trainee Asbestos Analyst, you will undergo a thorough 14 week training program, both classroom and site based within our Essex office and Manchester Head Office. This course is designed for you to become a fully qualified Asbestos Analyst, upon the completion of which you will be prepared and required to pass your BOHS P403 & P404 exams. The training requires hard work, dedication, and revision. Once qualified, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and analysing airborne fibres at various sites, which can range from industrial sites to residential properties. You’ll conduct tests such as background, leak, reassurance, and 4-stage clearances, all while following strict safety guidelines in the HSG 248 Analyst Guide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Undertake Thorough Training: Undertake a 14 week teaching course at the end of which you’ll need to be ready to put in the time and effort to pass the BOHS P403 & P404 exams.
  • Commitment to training: This will be held across both our Essex office and Manchester Head Office, along with frequent site visits and shadowing days. For the training held in Manchester, you’ll need to be available to be in Manchester Monday - Friday during this period. Typically, staff are asked to travel to Manchester on Sunday to be ready for the start of the workweek. You’ll return home on Friday for the weekend. Accommodation and travel expenses will, of course, be paid for by AEC.
  • Different Work Environments: Once qualified, you will be working on various challenging and interesting sites, which can include factories, schools, hospitals, and residential areas, often dealing with the public in high-pressure situations.
  • Perform air tests: Such as 4-stage clearances, background, leaks, reassurance.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work meets AEC and UKAS standards for quality and safety.
  • New Day, New Office: Travel to client sites across the Southeast, London, and further afield.
  • Flexibility: Participate in weekend rotas and work away from home when needed.
  • Safety: Follow company vehicle policies, ensuring safe driving and maintenance.
