TRAINEE ASBESTOS SURVEYOR - SOUTHWEST

As a Trainee Asbestos Surveyor in our dedicated team, you’ll support inspections and sampling of asbestos-containing materials in buildings, gaining hands-on experience that helps make spaces safer across the UK. You’ll have the opportunity to work with prestigious clients across sectors such as Defence, infrastructure (rail, roads, power stations), service, retail and heritage.
You will also receive comprehensive training and continuous support from experienced team members and upon completion, you will be awarded the P402 qualificationan industry recognised certification issued by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS).
This entry-level role suits someone enthusiastic, adaptable, and keen to learn in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

AS THIS IS A TRAINEE ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Take part in a comprehensive mix of site and office-based training, where you’ll learn the full process of asbestos surveyingfrom identifying and sampling materials in buildings to understanding how asbestos is managed, helping ensure properties remain safe for everyone
  • Accurately record inspection findings and assist with preparing survey reports for review
  • Raise any health and safety concerns immediately and stop work if required
  • Follow company procedures and quality standards to ensure all work is carried out safely and correctly

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE:

  • You’ll be a team player with the ability to work independently as you gain confidence in asbestos air monitoring
  • An interest in working in varied site environments is important, as you’ll regularly travel to different locations to carry out asbestos surveys
  • A keen eye for detail and an interest in investigative work is valuable, as you’ll be trained to identify, assess, and record asbestos-containing materials accurately during building surveys
  • Strong time management and organisational skills are essential to manage site schedules, complete reports accurately, and meet client deadlines
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal are important for reporting findings and working with clients and colleagues
  • A full manual UK driving licence is required, as this role involves regular travel to client sites across the region
