A rare opportunity has become available to work within our highly trained and dedicated team here at Pelican Preschool @ Blair Athol, you would be joining a team of educators who have been employed with our company all long term, and who facilitate a warm, supportive and caring environment!
The Role

As a Trainee Early Childhood Educator, you will be providing education and care for children from six weeks to six years of age. Your duties can include:

  • Supervise and interact with children
  • Assist with all room routines such as nappy change, rest and sleep, and food service
  • Greet families and children
  • Facilitate group time with songs, stories or other activities
  • Assist children in developing life and learning skills such as self-feeding themselves and toileting
  • Set up, implement, reset and modify programmed experiences
  • Assisting the Educators with programming according to the Early Years Learning Framework including writing observations and contributing to planning activities
  • Ensure that the centre’s strict cleaning regime is followed at all times.
  • Interact and encourage children’s play with one another and help guide them in their choices when needed

Requirements

  • Own transport (note public transport is not easily accessible at this location)
  • A genuine love for children and a desire to make early childhood education a long-term career
  • Strong work ethic
  • Enthusiasm and lots of energy
  • Experience working with children
  • If successful, you will need to obtain a Working With Children Check, reference checks and Police Check
  • Must be able to commit to a 18 month traineeship
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Word, PowerPoint etc
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older (on commencement of employment)

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Pay: $14.22 – $22.05 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 38 per week
