JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Trainee Civils Supervisor to support our site operations team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple civil engineering projects, assisting with daily site visits and monitoring progress. You will learn every aspect of what it takes to be a Civils supervisor. You will be responsible for reporting on issues, delays, and completed works to ensure projects remain on track and to the required standards.
Working closely with experienced supervisors and managers, you will learn key aspects of site supervision, including health and safety compliance, quality assurance, and workforce coordination. This role is designed to provide structured training and on-the-job learning, with the aim of progressing into a fully independent Civils Supervisor position.

  • Full Category B driving licence - no more than 6 points
  • Good mathematical skills for accurate calculations and analyses.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out daily visits to multiple civil engineering sites to monitor progress and activity.
  • Record and report issues, delays, and completed works to supervisors and project managers.
  • Assist in ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Learn and support with supervising subcontractors and site operatives.
  • Observe and follow guidance from experienced supervisors and managers to develop supervisory skills.
  • Assist with site documentation, progress reports, and compliance checks.
  • Promote and uphold health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with site teams, supervisors, and management to support smooth project delivery.
  • Undertake training and development tasks to progress towards becoming a qualified Civils Supervisor.
