Staffed is pleased to present an exciting career opportunity in machining. Our client, a prestigious material testing facility, is looking to hire a Trainee Machinist. This role offers you the chance to work in a small, close-knit workshop and play a pivotal role in prepping parts for CNC Machines using Manual Machines as well as operate and set CNC Machines with training. The facility is equipped with cutting-edge equipment, and the client is dedicated to providing complete training in both manual and CNC machining.
Salary: £26,847 per annum
Working Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience as either CNC Operator Setter or Manual Machinist is a plus but not mandatory.
  • A keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for precision work.
  • Experience in manual work requiring dexterity as well as experience in the use of power tools is essential
  • A desire to learn and willingness to be trained in manual and CNC machining.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • A strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to workplace safety.
Responsibilities
  • Machining Mastery: You’ll be responsible for prepping and setting up parts for machining using manual equipment, ensuring precision and accuracy.
  • CNC Expertise: Operating CNC Machines according to established procedures to produce high-quality components as well as setting them upon training
  • Quality Assurance: Performing meticulous inspections and measurements on finished parts to guarantee their accuracy and quality.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Conducting routine machine maintenance and assisting in troubleshooting while upholding a safe and organised workshop environment.
