Mandarin Stone is a leading importer of natural stone and porcelain products in the UK. We are a family run business that has grown into a very successful and reputable company within the industry. Our Head Office is based in the beautiful Wye Valley in the Welsh border town of Monmouth We have 16 inspirational showrooms across the UK and are currently recruiting for a Trainee Fabrication Production Operative to join our Fabrication team in our Monmouth Head Office.

EXPERIENCE:

You do not need prior industry experience before you join as we provide on the job training. We look for people who are motivated, can work independently and as part of a team, have good attention to detail and good time management.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

You will work as part of a specialist team within Mandarin Stone, manufacturing and working with different stone formats to produce finished pieces to a client and or Mandarin Stone specification to both enhance and uphold high standard and quality.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • To undertake and complete daily fabrication tasks as directed by the fabrication manager
  • To work both within a team or independently as directed by the fabrication manager based on project requirements to ensure all finished pieces are completed efficiency and to a high standard.
  • To understand the natural characteristics of each type of stone.
  • To understand and interpret correctly information provided to you, by which the finished pieces of stone are produced.
  • Ensure all paperwork is finalised following completion of a clients order in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all fabricated pieces are packed safely to ensure fabricated products are not damaged during transportation and are presented to the client in a good condition and presentable standard.
  • Assist the samples team with selecting and cutting down tiles ready for the sample area when required.
  • Participate in weekly maintenance schedules and reporting any machinery faults.
  • Ensure to be courteous and helpful at all times when serving clients, assisting them to load / unload their purchases on to or from their vehicles.
