We are looking for an Freight Coordinator to be based at our Newcastle site (SR5 2TA ) This role involves remote work of up to 3 days per week at home (Subject to Business Requirements).
As a Freight Coordinator you will be working as part of a team responsible and effective planning of shipments on behalf of the International Healthcare Control Tower’s Customers.
This a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £23,000- £25,000 (depending on experience) and the working schedule is predominantly Monday – Friday working 09:00 till 17:00

Key responsibilities:

1) Operations

• Acting as the direct contact between our customers and internal and external stakeholders, including carriers, where applicable.
• Overseeing agreed procedures as a control tower for Healthcare business.

2) Financial

• Ensuring costs received and debits raised are as per the agreed levels.
• Raising customer invoices

3) Compliance

• Ensuring all operations adhere to the route lane designs agreed and approved by quality managers within Yusen and the client.
• Support the Quality and compliance team with investigation when needed
• Producing required reports for management and clients where necessary.
• Remote and site visits to clients and suppliers to ensure business reviews and continuous improvement processes.

4) Customer service

• To engage with the customer to meet their need and expectations
• To be the initial conduit for all bookings, queries and finance related issues for portfolio of clients.

Key Requirements:

• Freight forwarding experience is Preferred but not essential
• Initiative-taking and flexible approach
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
• Attention to detail
• Ability to build strong relationships
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong numeracy/literacy
• Key Microsoft Office applications
• Financial Awareness
