This could be your opportunity to excel as a Trainee Hydrographic Surveyor, playing a vital role in supporting SOCOTEC’s continued success. We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Trainee Hydrographic Surveyor to join our Land & Hydrographics team. In this role, you’ll need the confidence to work independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to): Participate in offshore and nearshore survey operations Ensure accurate data recording and documentation Assist in the safe navigation and handling of survey vessels (e.g. workboats, RIBs) Support launch and recovery operations Aid in the mobilisation, setup, and maintenance of survey equipment Work alongside survey teams during data acquisition activities Carry out basic vessel checks and routine maintenance Assist with deck operations and general marine duties Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times Work collaboratively with survey teams and project staff Qualifications To be a successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate: Basic knowledge of hydrographic survey principles Familiarity with GIS or data processing software RYA Powerboat Level 2 or similar Previous experience working on boats or in a marine environment Basic understanding of navigation and safety procedures Offshore certificates (e.g. sea survival, medical) Basic mechanical awareness Additional Information Why SOCOTEC?
