TRAINEE INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN
Location: Leeds
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum

We are a leading provider of construction survey equipment, offering reliable sales, hire, and servicing of high-precision instruments across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Instrument Technician to join our Derby-based team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service, calibrate and repair a wide range of survey instruments, including GNSS units, total stations, levels, and data loggers.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and software installations.
- Carry out diagnostics and provide detailed service reports.
- Ensure all work complies with quality and safety standards.
- Assist customers with basic troubleshooting and equipment queries.
- Maintain an organised and ESD-safe workshop environment.
- Support internal operations with inventory control and equipment testing.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with construction or surveying equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong fault-finding skills, ideally with electronics or mechatronics knowledge.
- A methodical and accurate approach to technical servicing.
- Ability to read technical manuals and follow service procedures.
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with SAP or other service reporting software is an advantage.
