OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic jetting operative to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals who want to gain hands-on experience in the water industry while developing their technical skills. Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of drainage systems using high-pressure water jetting equipment, while learning to carry out CCTV surveys, blockage clearance, and basic repairs under the guidance of experienced operatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Jetting & Cleaning
  • Operate (under supervision) high-pressure water jetting equipment to clear blockages and clean drainage pipes.
  • Safely set up jetting units and hoses on site.
  • Follow proper water flow, pressure, and safety protocols.
  • Drainage Inspection
  • Assist with CCTV drainage surveys to identify defects, blockages, and structural issues.
  • Support in the use of CCTV inspection software and equipment.
  • Follow health & safety procedures, including confined space working and traffic management where required.
  • Help set up and dismantle work sites, including signs, barriers, and cones.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Record basic job details, site conditions, and issues found for the senior operative or supervisor.
  • Upload survey data and notes to the company system.
  • Training & Development
  • Attend all required safety, technical, and on-the-job training sessions.
  • Work towards competence in high-pressure water jetting, CCTV surveying, and drainage maintenance.

Essential

  • Good physical fitness for manual handling and site work.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and follow safety instructions.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel

Desirable

  • Basic mechanical skills or experience in manual labour/construction.
  • Valid CSCS card or willingness to obtain.
  • Interest in drainage, utilities, or civil engineering.
  • Full UK driving licence (often required for progression).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £24,420.00-£28,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Stoke-on-Trent ST6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • Jetting and CCTV surveying : 2 years (required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (preferred)
