Job Overview
Quality Analytical Services Ltd (QAS) is looking to hire a Trainee Lab Technician to join our team. We are looking for a reliable team player who is interested in science and can demonstrate strong attention to detail. This will be a full time, permanent role, on completion of a successful probationary period.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and non-routine tests using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments
• Receive or collect, as well as process, samples
• Book in samples onto the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), and prepare & issue reports after checking accuracy
• Prepare and supervise experiments
• Perform quality control and calibrate equipment if necessary
• Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area
• Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required, with preference for science courses
• No prior lab experience needed as full training will be provided
• Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Capable of following written instructions/ procedures
• Ability to perform physical work such as standing for long periods of time, moving racks of samples around the laboratory etc.
• Able to obtain a clean criminal record check

Pay: $16.97-$20.00 per hour
