JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking two committed and enthusiastic Trainee Laboratory Technicians to join our dynamic Research and Development team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their careers in the chemical industry. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship while gaining hands-on experience in a vibrant R&D environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least five GCSEs with grades 9-4 or equivalent, including English, Maths, and Chemistry or Science.
  • A keen interest in chemistry and/or materials science and technology.
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous laboratory experience (internships or coursework) is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities
  • Assist Technologists and Chemists with experimental work and laboratory procedures.
  • Prepare and test laboratory scale samples of inks, coatings and intermediates to defined standards.
  • Use and maintain laboratory equipment and materials in line with SunCare safety principles and policies.
  • Document experimental processes and results accurately in lab notebooks and databases.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
  • Maintain a clean and organised laboratory workspace.
