Description:

Do you want to join Fortum to power a world where people, businesses and nature thrive together?
Fortum Group Legal team is responsible for Fortum’s corporate and business legal affairs, ethics and compliance and data privacy within the Fortum Group. We are a team of over 50 high-level professionals located in Finland, Sweden, Poland and Norway.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious legal trainee to join our Corporate Customers and Markets (CCM) Legal and Compliance team as legal trainee. You will be based in our company headquarters in Espoo and work together with our global Legal team and also other professionals, with a great opportunity to learn from experienced team members.
CCM business unit is responsible for hedging and value creation in both physical and financial power markets, locking in revenues for Fortum’s power generation and managing supply for Fortum’s Consumer Solutions business unit. CCM is also the customer interface for large industrial customers and pursues value through power demand creation in the Nordic market. Long-term contracts and PPAs with industrial customers are important instruments for CCM.
Our legal trainee program offers law students a unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in working at a large publicly listed company. You will have your own mentor to guide you through the practicalities of working at Fortum. As legal trainee, you will primarily support our CCM Legal and Compliance team in a wide variety of assignments. Your tasks will include, for example, drafting documents, conducting legal research, preparing presentations and analyses on the application of different laws, as well as providing other day-to-day legal support to our lawyers and compliance experts. A part of the tasks can also be tailored based on your personal interests and previous work experience. We offer you a challenging and rewarding working environment.
This traineeship is offered on a part-time or full-time basis, depending on your preference, and has a fixed duration of 6 to 7 months. The starting date is flexible, but we hope that you will be able to start your traineeship as soon as possible.
