Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and specialised testing of pellet samples using laboratory equipment and standardised methods
  • Analyse pellet bulk density, moisture content, durability, and other relevant physical properties
  • Document and interpret test results, identifying trends or deviations from specifications
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and various factory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Perform daily safety checks and ensure the test room is cleaned and maintained to required standards
  • Support the production team on the factory floor when needed
  • Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to resolve material inconsistencies
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain thorough documentation of calibration register, archives, test results, and non-conformance register
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Support research and development initiatives by testing new pellet formulations or alternative materials

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with ENplus® testing standards is highly desirable
  • Understanding of pellet manufacturing processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimise laboratory testing procedures
  • Prior experience in testing pellets would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Basic maths skills required
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 45 per week
