JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a motivated young professional with or without reinsurance experience who is eager to get to know a leading reinsurer being located in the heart of Cologne. The traineeship is clearly focused on underwriting tasks, such as analysis of insurance portfolios and structuring of reinsurance contracts, however there will also be stages with all supporting functions like the actuarial, modeling, claims, accounting and legal departments. On top, there will be the possibility to participate in projects. During the 24 months traineeship the trainee will be able to develop the necessary skillset for a junior underwriter position.

EXPERIENCE:

  • You have an excellent command of English
  • You have sound analytical skills and are motivated to develop new skills in the underwriting area
  • You demonstrate excellent IT skills with respect to standard software

REQUIRED EDUCATION

University degree/Master’s degree preferably in Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics or Law

Responsibilities
  • Underwriting/Pricing
  • Learn how to analyse and price the underlying business
  • Assist in preparation of offers for reinsurance programs
  • Assist in monitoring of the performance of the treaties
  • Contract Certainty/Administration
  • Learn how to prepare, review, adjust and sign contracts
  • Learn to use all SCOR´s internal admin systems
  • Prepare presentations and statistical analysis for internal use
  • Learn to apply and follow our internal guidelines during the underwriting process
