TRAINEE PRODUCTION SHIFT MANAGER

Reporting to: Production Manager
Location: Nenagh Co. Tipperary
Business Sector: Ingredients - Manufacturing
Support the Production Shift Manager in taking responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of a highly automated 24/7 milk processing site.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Experience in a production role in a Food processing environment a distinct advantage
  • Food/ Science or Process/Engineering/Production Management qualification or equivalent desirable.

KEY SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Experience in a production role in a food processing environment including previous experience as a team leader/shift manager or equivalent desirable.
  • Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Appetite to drive safety improvements
  • IT and report writing skills
  • High standards of systems compliance.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Production Shift Manager in:
  • Ensuring the manufacture of products to the highest standards in the safest, most cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Fully utilising and harnessing the Production and Maintenance Teams capability through effective leadership, processes that are consistently applied and accurately measured against the business objectives.
  • Day to day management of production operatives on the shift rotation
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements in conjunction with key stakeholders
  • Ensuring strict adherence to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring consistent adherence to company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintaining and driving quality standards in process, people, and product.
  • Capacity planning for existing and future products
  • Identifying and implementing Lean initiatives
  • Contributing to the culture of continuous improvement
  • Reporting and communicating effectively with the senior management team on an ongoing basis.
  • Assisting with the development of Standard Operating Procedures.
