OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Radiation Protection Advisor to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual looking to develop expertise in radiation safety and environmental protection by visiting a huge range of clients throughout industry, research and commerce. As a Trainee, you will receive comprehensive training and support to help you grow into the role (including enrolment on the AURPO Certificate in Radiation Protection), ensuring that you can effectively contribute to our team.

SKILLS

  • Applicants must have a Science degree, and previous teaching experience would be a clear advantage
  • Strong analytical skills for conducing root cause analysis of incidents
  • Proficiency in report writing to clearly communicate findings and recommendations
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with clients and colleagues at all levels

    Whilst you will be based at our Macclesfield Office we currently operate hybrid working. The benefits package will be made available following successful completion of the probationary period (3 months).

Responsibilities
  • Visit industrial and research clients across GB to audit their regulatory compliance
  • Support the drafting and review of risk assessments and safety procedures
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge of radiation safety practices
  • Collaborate with safety advisers to perform critical examinations and investigate incidents
  • Assist with surveys of contaminated land, buildings and laboratories to identify the presence of residual contamination
  • Prepare detailed reports on your findings from inspections, assessments and incidents
  • Deliver RPS training courses both on site and via Teams
  • Contribute to our monthly RPS training courses held at a local hotel
