We are looking for a
Trainee, Software Development Engineer
to join Normet’s R&D software development team in Iisalmi, from 1st September to 31st December, 2025. There is also the possibility to work from our remote office in Kuopio.
The team is responsible for control system software development for Normet´s equipment portfolio, and its´ mission is to provide safe, sustainable and efficient solutions to customers.
In this position, Software Development trainee will participate in control system software development process by coding and testing machine control system functionalities. Responsibilities and tasks may be adjusted based on competence, studies and subject of person interest.
The target group of applicants for the open position are Koodi/Sisu students.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

• coding of new features and maintaining existing code
• testing of control system in virtual test environment
• troubleshooting
• documentation

To shine in this position, we hope you have:

• Experience, studies or personal interest of embedded control systems
• Willingness to learn control system software engineering methods and technologies used in tunnelling and mining machine development
• Well progressed studies in Kood/Sisu
• Good communication skills in Finnish and English
• Good interaction and collaboration skills
