JOB SUMMARY
Reeds Solicitors has an exciting opportunity for a proactive trainee solicitor to join our busy and highly regarded Court of Protection team based in our Cardiff office.
We are looking for a keen and hardworking individual, who has a genuine interest in Court of Protection work and wishes to qualify in this field. No previous CoP or paralegal experience is needed, but we do need someone who will be confident getting stuck in from the outset, drafting documents and statements for the court, liaising with other professionals, and communicating with our clients. If anyone has any personal or professional experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, dementia or mental health diagnoses then we would be particularly interested to hear from them.
Working hours are 9am – 5pm with one hour for lunch and the salary is £28,000 per annum. Remote/hybrid working is available, but there is an expectation that you will attend the Cardiff office one day a week.
More information about the work that we do can be found here:
https://reeds.co.uk/court-of-protection-solicitors/
Please note that the training contract is subject to successfully completing your probationary period, and we will apply to the SRA for that time to be included as part of your qualifying work experience.
If you would like to apply, please download a copy of the application form from our website (here: bit.ly/47wDgkz) or email us at recruitment@reeds.co.uk stating COP TRAINEE SOLICITOR APPLICATION in the subject line. We will send you an application form to complete.

The right candidate would:
Assist solicitors throughout all stages of case preparation, including:
Attending court hearings and meetings with solicitors and/or counsel;
Considering disclosure and evidence and preparing notes of the same;
Attending client visits in hospitals, care homes and other care settings .
Any other duties as directed by the Team Leader.
