Oxford Stone Craftsmanship are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and responsible trainee to join our expanding team. We fabricate and install granite, marble and quartz kitchen work surfaces as well as marble bathroom cladding and fire place hearths across Oxfordshire and beyond.
The role will involve working on the saw machines cutting granite, quartz and ceramic work surfaces.
The successful candidate will be responsible, punctual and have a positive attitude.
As a trainee you will learn how to cut stone surfaces using our CNC machines and using CAD and digital templating on these machines. You will also be taught how to use vacuum operated crane for lifting stone. This role is varied and interesting with scope for progression for the right candidate.
No previous experience is required as all training will be provided.
Ideally the right candidate will have:
- Excellent time keeping and communication skills
- Ability to accurately use the CNC machine to measure and cut stone surfaces
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods of time
Working hours are Monday to Friday (8.00 am until 5.00 pm) but the role does require flexibility as over time will be required from time to time to ensure that installations are completed. Flexibility in this regard is essential.
