ADVANCED SKILLS PATHWAY

  • Available for ACRRM and RACGP Registrars undertaking a Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP) qualification.
  • Comprises 12 months advanced specialised training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Adult Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Surgery (24 months for ACRRM).

Qualifications - External

  • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • High level communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Skills in time management, prioritisation and problem solving
  • Commitment to own continuing professional development and self-education
  • Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
  • At least three years’ post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent
Responsibilities

Provide first-line medical care to patients presenting to the Hospital, including assessment, investigation, treatment and referral for ongoing non-inpatient care or, on consultation with consultant specialists, admission/transfer for inpatient care and discharge of patients.
