JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a trainee Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in mechanical knowledge and be proficient in using both power and hand tools, we are interested in anyone currently pursuing their level 1 or above or has recently qualified. As a trainee Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the following:

Learning and Development:

  • On-the-job training:Working alongside experienced technicians, learning through observation and practical experience.
  • Formal training:Participating in training programs, workshops, and potentially pursuing qualifications.
  • Knowledge acquisition:Learning about different vehicle systems, components, and repair procedures.
  • Diagnostic skills:Learning to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle faults.

Assisting with Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:

  • Routine servicing: Assisting with oil changes, filter replacements, and other routine maintenance tasks.
  • Basic repairs: Performing simple repairs like replacing brake pads or tires.
  • Component removal and replacement: Assisting with the removal and installation of various vehicle components.
  • Road testing: Assisting with road testing vehicles after repairs to ensure they are running correctly.
  • Documenting findings: Learning to record observations, findings, and work completed on vehicles.
  • Supporting internal departments: Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of new, used, or loan vehicles.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Workshop maintenance: Keeping the workshop area clean, tidy, and organized.
  • Inventory management: Learning to manage parts and supplies.
  • Customer service: Assisting with customer interactions, including explaining repairs and answering questions.
  • Learning and sharing knowledge: Sharing knowledge and experience with other members of the workshop team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Good communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques is also important.

You will be required to work MONDAY-FRIDAY and every other Saturday (we are open to working around any college days you may have)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £16,489.20 per year
